Our Journey Begins
Welcome to Stepping Stones Academy, where your child's growth and happiness are our top priorities. Since 2010, our dedicated family has provided nurturing environment for children aged 6 weeks to Kindergarten, ensuring quality childcare and preschool education. We are committed to empowering parents with valuable resources and support, making each step of your child's journey a joyful experience. Join us in fostering a love for learning and development!
SSA, established in 2010 in Englewood, CO, was founded by sisters Kaela and Sorrell, along with their mother Dianna. As a fully family-owned and operated center, SSA is not part of a franchise, which allows them to realize their unique vision for childcare—one that fosters a true sense of family. Their mission has always been to create an environment that supports students, families, and staff, working collaboratively for the benefit of all.
Throughout the year, SSA offers a variety of engaging activities, including Child Care Days during holidays, Parent's Night Out, and community celebrations like Trunk or Treat. They eagerly anticipate welcoming you into their nurturing environment!
Philosophy
At Stepping Stones Academy, we are committed to the belief that children can achieve their full potential when provided with the appropriate environment and education. We envision an ideal environment as one that is safe, enjoyable, stimulating, and adaptable to the evolving needs of each child as individuals. We emphasize experiential learning through a hands-on approach, encouraging children to experiment and explore freely, which significantly enhances their development.

My son has been attending Stepping Stones since he was 14 weeks old. I can't say enough good things about this daycare and wish we weren't leaving! The curriculum is engaging, many of the staff members have been working at the center a long time and the extended hours are great if you need early pick up/drop off. I've found the center to be very communicative and responsive to questions/concerns/requests. -Bridget
Such an amazing and wonderful place. My daughter has bloomed into a curious, creative and independent girl and I have nothing but amazing things to say about Kaela, Sorrell and their staff. My daughter loves Stepping Stones and looks forward to going to school every day even on weekends...lol.The staff is warm and inviting and takes time to get to know each child, the child's family and their needs. Very impressive program and highly recommended.-Tate
I have two children, ages 6 and 3, who have both been a part of SSA. I live in Englewood and learned about it from one of my friends whose children also attended SSA. It is hard to put into words how difficult it is to find an early childhood program in which you feel connected, supported and comfortable to leave your child each day. SSA meets all of those and more. The staff know, love, respect and challenge the children to grow each day. I trust them in their communication with each other, and with our family, regarding our children’s development and learning. The family aspect portion of their name is accurate through and through. This organization works hard to establish an inclusive and nurturing environment for all students and families who walk through the door. In addition to providing strong curriculum based lessons that are fun, creative and exploratory, they have various events throughout the year that bring all members of the special community together. They are flexible and open to try and meet the needs of each family and child, which is unique and important to highlight within this family. Over the years, our family has formed incredibly special relationships with the SSA staff and administration, as well as the other families, that extend far beyond the regular drop-off and pick-up routines. I am thankful and appreciative of this staff and their mission in supporting child development and community connections. If you have any further questions regarding this recommendation, please feel free to contact me at the phone and email address below. Thank you, Natalie
We truly cannot rave enough about SSA. This is not just a daycare- it’s a second home, a trusted village, and a place where love, learning, and growth flourish. Our son started at SSA when he was just 10 months old, and now at 5 years old, he is confident, curious, kind, and ready to move into Kindergarten thanks to the remarkable care and love of the SSA staff. Our daughter followed in his footsteps, starting at 3 months, and in just over a year, she has blossomed under the same warmth and guidance. The educators at SSA are more than caregivers; they are an extension of our family. They have walked with us through milestones, challenges, and joyful moments. And they've always done so with open arms, wise hearts, and a deep, genuine investment in our children’s development. It speaks volumes that the staff have remained constant for the many years we have trusted our babies with their care. Our children’s emotional, social, and cognitive growth is a direct reflection of the love and community they’ve received at SSA. The impact of this place is immeasurable, and I cannot imagine raising our kids without the support of this extraordinary team. -The G Family
